All about Bougainville reef dive site

Bougainville Reef is a remote Coral Sea reef, reached on expedition-style itineraries when weather allows. It offers a stronger sense of isolation than the main Great Barrier Reef, with walls, bommies, and blue water.

What to see

Reef sharks, trevally, barracuda, tuna, turtles, soft corals, gorgonian fans, and large schools of reef fish may be seen. Remote walls may also bring bigger pelagic encounters.

When To Go Diving

Best in calm offshore conditions, often during the dry season. Visibility can be excellent on settled days, and water is generally warm, around 25–29°C.
