La Passe is a strait on the South-West coast of Mauritius. There is a lot of current around the place so divers should choose carefully where to stop. Some large, deeper holes have better protection from the current. The average depth of the site is around 12m/39ft.

When to go

Scuba diving is possible pretty much all through the year. The high season is considered to be from November to mid-January and the whole of May. Surface water temperatures range from 22C to 27C/71F-80F.

What to see

The marine life is pretty diverse at this location. Divers can spot some big fish including schools of tuna, barracuda or sharks. Divers can start the dive from the lagoon and drift to the pass, finishing the dive in the ocean.
