All about Alcatraz South dive site

Alcatraz South gives the Alcatraz area a slightly different mood, likely with deeper or more exposed sections than the shallow site. The dive is built around volcanic reef structure, ledges, and fish life adapted to the Atlantic conditions around Cape Verde.

What to see

Divers may see barracuda, jacks, parrotfish, trumpetfish, moray eels, scorpionfish, nudibranchs, sponges, and small crabs. Rays or turtles may pass over the sand or reef edge.

When To Go Diving

April to November usually offers the best conditions, though diving can be possible year-round. Water is commonly around 22–27°C in the main season, while visibility often reaches 15–30 metres.
