Yamagiri Maru is a large passenger-cargo wreck known for its artillery shells and strong structural presence. Resting on its side, it offers a dramatic view into the scale and cargo of Truk Lagoon’s wartime fleet.
What to see
Large artillery shells, cargo holds, hull structure, coral growth, reef fish, lionfish, moray eels, sponges, and schooling fish may be seen.
When To Go Diving
Best in calm, clear conditions, though the wreck can be dived year-round. Water is generally around 27–30°C, with visibility often 15–30 metres.
