Wreck
San Francisco Maru is one of Truk Lagoon’s most famous and deeper wrecks, known for its wartime cargo and dramatic deck features. It has a serious, advanced profile and is often treated as a highlight for experienced wreck divers.
What to see
Tanks, trucks, mines, ammunition, cargo holds, deck guns, soft corals, reef fish, jacks, barracuda, lionfish, and deeper wreck structure may be seen.
When To Go Diving
Diveable year-round, but best in calm, clear conditions from December to April. Because this is a deeper wreck, depth, gas planning, and experience level matter.
