All about Vallee de Mai dive site

Vallée de Mai is not a dive site, but a UNESCO-listed nature reserve on Praslin and one of Seychelles’ defining land experiences. It can work well as a surface-interval or non-diving highlight, adding ancient palm forest, coco de mer palms, and endemic wildlife to a Seychelles dive itinerary.

What to see

On land, the key highlights are coco de mer palms, dense prehistoric-looking forest, and the Seychelles black parrot. For nearby Praslin diving, divers may see granite reefs, turtles, stingrays, reef fish, snappers, fusiliers, eagle rays, and occasional reef sharks.

When To Go Diving

Best visited year-round, though March–May and October–November pair especially well with the strongest Seychelles diving conditions. Nearby Praslin dive sites are often most comfortable during these calmer transition months, with water around 25–30°C and visibility often up to 30 metres or more.
