This site is a part of the Parque Marino de Cozumel. It is a healthy reef, rich with coral heads that rise from the sandy bottom, as well as sea fans, sponges, pinnacles, marine life and even a mini wall. This site is a very good place for underwater photography.

When To Go Diving

Diving is available all year round with water temperature ranging between 25C/75F and 29C/84F. The high season for diving is from December to March.

What to see

Among the marine species that dwell in its coral valleys, divers may observe moray eels, black durgon, groupers, angelfish, barracuda, grunts, triggerfish, toadfish and snapper, which are common, as well as smaller reef fish that can be occasionally spotted.

Reviews about Tormentos

The current was ripping the day we dove Tormentos.
The current was ripping the day we dove Tormentos. Hug the bottom if you want to pause to see something. Lots of life, saw several Hawksbill sea turtles, queen angels, queen triggers, cherub angels, blue tangs, 'cuda and wrasses. Most of the reef is mounds with some sandy areas between. No wall. Not really a difficult dive other than the current.
