Tetamanu Pass is the southern Fakarava pass, also known as Tumakohua, and one of French Polynesia’s most famous shark dives. Its combination of clear water, strong current, and dense marine life gives it an unforgettable pass-diving atmosphere.
What to see
Grey reef sharks in very large numbers, groupers, snappers, Napoleon wrasse, barracuda, jacks, reef fish, and healthy corals may be seen.
When To Go Diving
May to October is usually excellent, with incoming tide preferred for many dives. June and July can be especially notable for grouper spawning activity.
