All about Tartaruga dive site

Tartaruga, meaning “turtle,” suggests either a turtle-shaped rock or a site where turtles may occasionally pass, especially in Madeira or the Azores. It should not be presented as a guaranteed turtle encounter.

What to see

Turtles may be possible in island regions, along with wrasse, bream, groupers, moray eels, octopus, barracuda, jacks, sponges, and rocky reef life.

When To Go Diving

"Best from June to October on mainland and Azores sites; Madeira is diveable year-round, with warmer water in late summer and autumn."
