All about South Twin dive site

South Twin is a granite island dive site, which gives it a different underwater character from many of Mergui’s limestone formations. Large boulders, valleys, swim-throughs, and coral-filled passages create a more sculptural dive, with the feeling of moving through a submerged island landscape.

What to see

Divers may see sea fans, soft corals, reef fish, fusiliers, trevallies, barracuda, nudibranchs, shrimps, moray eels, and cuttlefish. The boulder formations may also shelter macro life such as ghost pipefish, frogfish, and small crustaceans.

When To Go Diving

The strongest window is usually December to April, with calmer seas and better visibility. Water temperatures are commonly 26–30°C, while visibility can range from 15–30 metres on good days.
