All about Silk Cayes dive site
Silk Cayes, off Placencia, are small southern Belize cayes surrounded by clear water, patch reef, and sandy areas. The sites have a postcard-like surface setting, but underwater the interest comes from reef fish, rays, and gentle coral structure.
What to see
Rays, nurse sharks, turtles, coral heads, sponges, sea fans, snappers, grunts, parrotfish, and angelfish may be seen. The area is also popular for snorkelling.
When To Go Diving
December to May is usually the best overall season, with calmer seas and good visibility. Water generally stays around 26–29°C, and shallow sites remain comfortable year-round.
