Shinkoku Maru is often considered one of Truk Lagoon’s most beautiful wrecks because of its heavy coral, sponge, and anemone growth. It has a softer, more living-reef character than many of the cargo-heavy wrecks.
What to see
Soft corals, anemones, sponges, medical and engine-room areas, deck structure, reef fish, lionfish, nudibranchs, moray eels, and schooling fish may be seen.
When To Go Diving
Year-round diving is possible, and the wreck is especially atmospheric in calm conditions or as a night dive for experienced divers. Water is usually around 27–30°C.
