All about River Gurara dive site

River Gurara is one of Portugal’s major wreck dives, off the Algarve, with a dramatic cargo-ship profile and deeper Atlantic setting. It has a serious wreck-diving character and is best suited to experienced divers.

What to see

Large wreck structure, cargo areas, conger eels, octopus, bream, wrasse, sponges, anemones, nudibranchs, and schooling fish may be seen.

When To Go Diving

Best from May to October in calm sea conditions. Water is often around 17–23°C in summer, with visibility variable but rewarding when conditions settle.
