All about Valados dive site
Valados is best treated as a local Portuguese reef site with rocky Atlantic structure, low reef growth, and fish sheltering around cracks and ledges. It has the understated character of mainland Portugal diving, where clear water, stone relief, and careful observation create the appeal.
What to see
Wrasse, bream, damselfish, octopus, cuttlefish, conger eels, nudibranchs, small crabs, sea stars, anemones, and rocky reef life may be seen.
When To Go Diving
Best from June to October, when sea conditions are usually calmer and water is more comfortable. Water may range from about 15–23°C on the mainland, with visibility often 5–20 metres depending on swell and plankton.
