Ponta Preta Funda is likely the deeper version of the Ponta Preta area, with a more dramatic profile and potentially stronger open-water influence. It suits more confident divers who enjoy depth, reef edges, and the possibility of larger fish movement.
What to see
Expect jacks, barracuda, schooling fish, moray eels, scorpionfish, parrotfish, wrasse, sponges, and possible rays or turtles. Larger pelagic species are possible but should be treated as occasional.
When To Go Diving
Best dived from April to November, when conditions are generally more favourable. Water is usually around 22–27°C, and visibility can reach 15–30 metres in settled weather.
