All about Palmeira dive site

Palmeira is linked with Sal’s northwestern coast and is known for volcanic cave-style diving near the island’s port area. The underwater scenery can feel more rugged and architectural, with lava formations and openings that create a darker, more dramatic atmosphere.

What to see

Divers may see cave openings, sun corals, soldierfish, moray eels, scorpionfish, lobsters, crabs, sponges, and reef fish. Turtles or rays may appear outside the cave sections.

When To Go Diving

The best time is generally April to November, with calm conditions especially important for cave-style sites. Water is usually around 22–27°C, and visibility commonly ranges from 15–30 metres.
