Pedra Rica, meaning “rich rock,” suggests a rocky reef with varied cracks, ledges, and fish shelter. It is a good name for a site where detail matters more than distance.
What to see
Rocky ledges, wrasse, bream, octopus, conger eels, cuttlefish, sponges, anemones, nudibranchs, and small crustaceans may be seen.
When To Go Diving
Best from June to October, with water generally around 17–23°C on the mainland. Visibility can be 10–25 metres in settled conditions.
