All about Old Airport dive site
Old Airport, near Kailua-Kona, is an accessible Hawaiʻi Island reef area with lava structure, coral patches, and easy coastal conditions when the sea is calm. It has a practical but rewarding local-dive character.
What to see
Reef fish, butterflyfish, tangs, turtles, moray eels, octopus, nudibranchs, coral heads, and lava ledges may be seen.
When To Go Diving
Diveable year-round in calm conditions, with May to October often warmest and most settled. Water is generally around 24–28°C.
