Nautilus: Schedule, Deals, Reviews

Our trip on the Nautilus Belle Amie fell well short of expectations for the price, and given the experience, we will not be taking this boat to Socorro. The itinerary felt tedious rather than adventurous, as we dove the exact same site at San Pedro Mártir eight times, despite consistently poor visibility. Life on board was equally frustrating. The lower cabins were uncomfortably hot and humid—the AC often functioned as just a basic fan, making sleeping difficult because the beds felt constantly damp. Daily operations and dive logistics were chaotic. With 30 divers on board, the dive deck was extremely cramped, and much of the space was taken up by camera gear storage and guide tables that could have been better utilized. Adding to the discomfort, an exhaust fan blew hot air directly onto a row of divers as they tried to suit up. In 95 degree weather, this felt extremely uncomfortable. Staging 30 people onto skiffs was stressful and rushed in such tight quarters. Communication was virtually nonexistent due to the lack of a PA system, leading to a disorganized schedule where briefings ran late without any updates from the crew. While food was plentiful throughout the day, meals were rather bland and lacked variety. The crew members were friendly when approached, but about half of the staff felt distant and rarely intermingled with guests, creating an awkward disconnect compared to other liveaboards we’ve experienced. Overall, the Sea of Cortez trip was simply not worth what we paid, and we will be looking at other operators for future liveaboard trips.

I had a wonderful experience with Divebooker and Nautilus. I am a solo female traveler and I couldn't have felt safer. The communication was wonderful from the time of booking until the end of the trip. I was extremely satisfied and didn't want to leave. I will certainly be diving and booking with Divebooker and Nautilus again.
