When to go to Playa del Carmen

Diving in Playa del Carmen is good all year round. Due to the tropical climate, the temperature difference between summer and winter is only slight. The warm season lasts from June to September, with an average ambient temperature of 87F/31C. The cold season lasts from December to February, with an average ambient temperature of 82F/28C. Average water temperature in winter 80F/27C, while in summer it’s 83F/28C. Currents vary from weak to moderate. 


What to see

Divers will be amazed with the diversity of marine life, that include bull and nurse sharks, hammerheads, tarpons, angelgish, moray eels, scorpion fish, lizard fish, groupers, rays, turtles, corals and huge barrel sponges.
