All about Maziwe Island dive site

Maziwe Island, near Pangani, is a remote sandbank and marine reserve surrounded by shallow coral reefs. It has a softer, more relaxed profile than Pemba’s deep walls, with clear water, colourful reef fish, and a secluded Indian Ocean setting.

What to see

Hard corals, reef fish, clownfish, parrotfish, angelfish, rays, turtles, dolphins in the wider area, nudibranchs, moray eels, and occasional reef sharks may be seen.

When To Go Diving

Best from June to October and December to February, when sea conditions are usually calmer. Water is generally around 26–29°C, with visibility often good in settled weather, though wind and tide can change conditions.
