Marsa Shoona, near Marsa Alam, is a sheltered bay with seagrass, coral patches, and easy shore or boat access. It is known for relaxed diving and the chance of larger grazing animals in the broader area.

What to see

Turtles, blue-spotted rays, guitarfish, reef fish, seagrass life, moray eels, lionfish, and coral bommies may be seen. Dugongs are possible in the region but not guaranteed.

When To Go Diving

Best in March–May and September–November, though the bay can be dived year-round. Water ranges from about 22–30°C.
