Los Arcos is a place of incredible biodiversity and natural beauty. Because of that, Los Arcos was declared a protected area in 1975. This site is a cluster of small islands with outstanding reefs, tunnels, caves and the eponymous underwater arches that lie on the edge of an underwater canyon. For more experienced divers there is a vertical wall that starts around 24m/80ft and goes down 548m/1,800ft. The waters surrounding Los Arcos are the deepest in the Banderas Bay and are full of lobsters, rays, turtles and different species of fish, including baracudas, butterflyfish, green moray eels, octopus, lobster, angelfish, puffer fish, needlefish, clownfish and many more. The average depth of the local dives is between 3-30m/10 with maximum of around 90ft. Visibility is excellent. The site is located within a short boat ride, 3-5min, from Marina Vallarta. This location has plenty to offer to novice as well as advanced divers.
