All about Ilheu Oeste dive site
Ilhéu Oeste, or “west islet,” suggests an island-edge dive with rocky walls, boulders, and open Atlantic water. It has a more remote and scenic profile than sheltered shore dives.
What to see
Jacks, barracuda, wrasse, groupers, moray eels, octopus, rays, sponges, anemones, and schooling fish may be seen.
When To Go Diving
Best from June to October, especially around Madeira or the Azores. Water is usually around 18–24°C in island regions.
