Horseshoe Bay, on southern Rinca, is one of Komodo’s most biologically rich areas, with cooler water and dramatic landscapes. Its sites can feel wild, moody, and full of unusual life.
What to see
Soft corals, sea apples, nudibranchs, frogfish, rhinopias, turtles, rays, reef fish, and schooling fish may be seen.
When To Go Diving
Southern Komodo is often clearer from November to March, while cooler nutrient-rich water may dominate at other times. Water can range from about 20–27°C.
