All about Hol Chan Marine Reserve dive site

Hol Chan Marine Reserve is one of Belize’s signature protected reef areas, where a natural cut through the barrier reef channels marine life through clear, shallow water. It is lively, accessible, and full of movement, making it a strong introduction to Belize’s reef system.

What to see

Nurse sharks, southern stingrays, turtles, jacks, groupers, snappers, grunts, parrotfish, angelfish, sea fans, sponges, and hard corals may be seen. The reef cut concentrates fish activity.

When To Go Diving

Hol Chan is dived and snorkelled year-round, with December to May usually offering the most settled conditions. Water is generally around 26–29°C, and visibility is often strong in calm weather.
