Torombi/Ras Torombi, located over one hour north of Port Ghalib, is characterized by pristine corals, abundant fish, and a feeling of wilderness, with deep seagrass in the center of the bay. Several dives can be made at this site. One of the dives is the Pinnacles (max. depth 25m/82ft): while moving around the pinnacles divers can see colorful hard corals that host thousands of small reef fish. Another dive is the north and south sides of Marsa Torombi (max. depth 20m/66ft and 18m/59ft): divers can explore the reef walls, small lagoons, colorful hard corals, and lots of fish. Safety stops can also be done on the south side of the reef.

When To Go Diving

Diving is available all year round, although the water temperature is the warmest during the summer months, around 28C/82F. In the winter months the water temperature can drop down to 20C/65F.

What to see

This site is home to colorful hard corals with many small fish, colorful pink and yellow soft corals, and sponges. The fauna include barracudas, blue-spotted stingrays, abundant unicornfish, scorpionfish, lionfish, titan triggerfish, hawksbill turtles, yellow wrasses, blennies, and even bottlenose dolphins.
