Shaab Hamam is a dive site in Hamata with a striking reef. There are two zones: a canyon and a coral garden, which attract more divers every year. The star feature of this place is an ancient arch of exceptional beauty framed by black corals on both sides. The maximum depth is more than 40m/131ft on the east side of the reef.

When To Go Diving

The dive site can be visited throughout the year. The best season is from July to October, when the average temperature is 27C/81F. The water temperature ranges from 20C/68F in winter to 29C/84F in summer.

What to see

There is a row of pinnacles from north to south. When swimming through “the saddle”, divers will see the arch, an important reef formation. The rich marine life includes whitetip reef sharks, gray reef sharks, and barracudas.
