What to see

Divers can spot sand rays, stonefish and scorpion fish as well as splendid toadfish and lots of trigger and tang fish. The incredible quantity of very large sized lobsters and crabs in this area as well as octopi, which are all typically shy during the daylight hours, makes this a superb choice for night dives. In the sand, divers will find sting rays, peacock flounder, urchins and, possibly, a sea horse.

Reviews about Chankanaab

A freshwater stream empties near the dive site and
A freshwater stream empties near the dive site and causes some weird distortion as the water mixes. Because of this visibility is not as good as it is at most other Cozumel dive sites. Never the less, it is still excellent. Very gentle current for the area, lots of life. Easy dive, your air will go a long ways here.
