All about Buracona dive site

Buracona is one of Sal’s most distinctive volcanic cave sites, famous above water for the Blue Eye and underwater for dramatic lava-rock formations. The dive has a strong sense of place, with large openings, light effects, and Atlantic surge shaping the experience.

What to see

Divers may see cave openings, sunlit rock formations, sponges, moray eels, scorpionfish, soldierfish, crustaceans, and reef fish. Turtles or rays may pass outside the cave area.

When To Go Diving

Calm sea conditions are especially important here, with April to November generally offering the best overall diving window. Water is usually around 22–27°C, and visibility often ranges from 15–30 metres.
