All about Barrocas de Fora dive site

Barrocas de Fora suggests an outer rocky reef, more exposed than sheltered bay sites. It has a stronger Atlantic feel, with boulders, ledges, and fish moving along the reef edge.

What to see

Rocky boulders, bream, wrasse, groupers where locally present, octopus, conger eels, anemones, sponges, nudibranchs, and schooling fish may be seen.

When To Go Diving

Best in calm summer and early autumn sea conditions. Water is generally 15–23°C, with visibility often better offshore than close to shore.
