Barracuda Shoals is an Exumas bankside patch reef known for large schools of fish and small critters on the reef and surrounding sand. It has a lively, close-to-the-bottom character, ideal for divers who like both fish density and patient macro searching.

What to see

Huge schools of fish, small reef creatures, sand-dwelling subjects, gobies, blennies, garden eels, snappers, grunts, and occasional rays may be seen. Barracuda and reef sharks are also possible in the wider Exumas environment.

When To Go Diving

Exumas diving is good year-round, with November to May the strongest overall season. Water is generally around 24–29°C, and visibility is often excellent in settled weather.
