Baixas de Armação de Pêra is an Algarve reef area with rocky shallows, sand channels, and Atlantic fish life. It has a relaxed southern Portugal feel, with varied terrain rather than dramatic depth.
What to see
Bream, wrasse, octopus, cuttlefish, conger eels, nudibranchs, anemones, sponges, sea stars, and small schooling fish may be seen.
When To Go Diving
Best from May to October, especially during calmer summer seas. Algarve water can range from about 14–23°C, and visibility is often 5–15 metres, sometimes better.
