Armação Nova is likely an Algarve reef or fishing-ground site, with low rock, sand channels, and small Atlantic life. It has a local coastal profile rather than a dramatic offshore feel.
What to see
Wrasse, bream, octopus, cuttlefish, conger eels, sea stars, sponges, anemones, nudibranchs, and juvenile fish may be seen.
When To Go Diving
Best from May to October. Water is often around 17–23°C in summer, though upwelling can make it cooler. Visibility is usually best in calm weather.
