Thompson’s Reef is best treated as a local Hawaiian reef site with coral patches, lava ledges, and fish life. It has a relaxed, familiar profile rather than a single dramatic landmark.
What to see
Reef fish, tangs, butterflyfish, turtles, moray eels, octopus, coral heads, nudibranchs, and small invertebrates may be seen.
When To Go Diving
Best from May to October, with year-round diving possible in calm conditions. Water is generally around 24–28°C.
