All about The Portillo's Wreck dive site

Wreck
The Portillo’s Wreck is a Samaná or Las Terrenas-area wreck-style site, giving the north coast a historical and artificial-reef element. It has a more textured feel than nearby reefs, with structure attracting fish and small marine life.

What to see

Wreck structure, sponges, encrusting growth, snappers, grunts, jacks, moray eels, lobsters, crabs, and reef fish may be seen around the remains.

When To Go Diving

Best dived when Atlantic-side conditions are calm, with visibility often strongest outside heavy swell. Water is generally around 24–29°C.
