All about Thalawila (St. Annes) Reef dive site

Thalawila Reef, near the Kalpitiya region, is linked with Sri Lanka’s northwest reef systems. It has a shallow-to-moderate reef character, with coral patches and warm coastal water.

What to see

Reef fish, corals, snappers, parrotfish, rays, moray eels, nudibranchs, lobsters, and small schooling fish may be seen.

When To Go Diving

The west and northwest coast is usually best from November to April. Water is generally around 27–30°C, with visibility affected by wind, swell, and plankton.
