All about Swami Rock dive site

Swami Rock, off Trincomalee, is one of Sri Lanka’s best-known east-coast sites, with a rocky drop-off below the Koneswaram Temple headland. The site has a dramatic coastal setting, with reef life gathered around ledges, walls, and deeper rock.

What to see

Reef fish, snappers, fusiliers, moray eels, lionfish, rays, turtles, barracuda, nudibranchs, and rocky wall life may be seen.

When To Go Diving

Best from May to September or October, when Trincomalee has calmer seas. Water is usually around 27–30°C, with visibility often 10–30 metres and sometimes better in peak conditions.
