Ranong is the capital city of the Ranong Province, Ranong Airport is located there. The town borders Myanmar and the Indian Ocean. Ranong is famous for being the major fishing and trading port in the province, and it is located in the Andaman Sea. The pristine nature of the destination makes it unique and charming. Most of the land is covered with forests and jungles. The beautiful terrain, wonderful beaches, and clear water caused several natural parks to be created in the area. Ranong makes all the tourists feel at home. In the calm atmosphere of Ranong, tourists usually forget that another world exists outside the borders of Ranong. The city has comfortable conditions for diving, and lots of dive sites to explore. The depths are up to 40m/131ft.

 

Most popular dive sites

Some of the sites worth visiting are the Surin Islands with its famous Richelieu Rock, the Similans, Koh Tachai, Koh Bon. There are also some interesting dive sites at the Mergui Archipelago: Western Rocky Island, Shark cave,  Fan Forest Pinnacle, Rocky 1, High Rock, North Twin Plateau, and North Twin Island.
