When To Go Diving

The prime time for diving and whale shark encounters in the Gulf of Tadjourah is from November to February. During these months, the whale sharks come close to the coast to feed on the plankton-rich waters. Sea Temperature: Water temperatures during this period typically range from 25°C to 29°C (77°F to 84°F), offering comfortable diving conditions. The waters are generally calm with good visibility, ranging from 10 to 30 meters (33 to 98 feet), allowing divers to have clear encounters with the marine life

  • Whale Sharks: The main attraction is the opportunity to swim with the gentle and enormous whale sharks that visit the gulf to feed.
