Puerto del Carmen, located on the east coast of Lanzarote Island, in 27 km from Lanzarote Airport. It is the most popular tourist place in Lanzarote and over 1 million of the island's visitors choose this town as their destination every year. It has a full range of services: casinos, great shopping, restaurants, hotels, and nightclubs, as well as fine beaches (Grande Beach, Los Pocillos, and Matagorda). The main street, Avenida Playas, extends some 7km/4mi along the coast with beaches on one side and bars, shopping centers, restaurants, and other tourist attractions on the other. Tourists will also enjoy the carnival, festivals, and tennis championships, that are held here every year. Puerto del Carmen has amazing diving and a large number of dive centers.
