Salon is best treated as a sheltered or moderately exposed reef site with a gentler, scenic profile. It suits slower diving, where coral heads, reef fish, and small details create the atmosphere rather than strong pelagic action.
What to see
Reef fish, butterflyfish, angelfish, snappers, moray eels, lionfish, nudibranchs, blue-spotted rays, turtles, hard corals, and sponges may be seen.
When To Go Diving
Diveable in suitable weather year-round, with May to October often bringing drier conditions and summer bringing warmer water. Water is generally around 23–30°C in many Mozambique regions, though Tofo can be cooler in winter.
