Giants Castle is one of the better-known Tofo-area reef names, associated with large marine life and open-ocean diving. It has a strong, adventurous character, with reef structure set in plankton-rich water that can attract impressive visitors.
What to see
Manta rays, whale sharks, reef fish, whitetip reef sharks, blacktip sharks, leopard sharks, turtles, jacks, barracuda, and humpback whales in the wider area from roughly June to October may be seen.
When To Go Diving
Tofo is diveable year-round, but May to November is often favoured for large marine life, including whale sharks and humpback whales in season. Water may be cooler from June to November and warmer from December to May, with visibility commonly variable from 5–30 metres.
