Pinnacles is one of Mozambique’s classic names for exposed, current-fed reef diving, especially around Ponta do Ouro. It is known for a more advanced, blue-water profile and the possibility of shark encounters when conditions align.

What to see
Bull sharks, hammerhead sharks, blacktip sharks, reef sharks, jacks, barracuda, tuna, rays, turtles, groupers, and schooling fish may be seen.
When To Go Diving
Ponta do Ouro can be dived year-round, with shark encounters often strongest from October to May. Water is generally around 23–29°C there, with visibility ranging from about 10–40 metres and currents that can be strong.
