Rock Point West is located off the main bay of Apo Island and belongs to the marine sanctuary. It is a long reef of over 200m/656ft with a sheer coral slope, plateau on the top and coral gardens full of various sea creatures.

When to go

This dive site is available throughout the whole year, but the time between January and May tends to have more favorable diving conditions. The air temperature usually stays about 29-31C/84-88F, and the water temperature ranges between 27-31C/81-88F.

What to see

Rock Point West gives divers an opportunity to observe sea snakes, Hawksbill turtles, longnose emprerors and large frogfish. The smaller inhabitants include scorpionfish, lionfish, numerous nudibranches of all colors, anemones full of clownfish, crabs, shrimps and other critters.
