Baie Ternay Marine National Park
Port Launay, on Mahé’s northwest coast, is a sheltered marine park area with granite rocks, coral patches, and calm tropical water. It has a relaxed, scenic profile, with enough structure for reef fish and smaller subjects while remaining more approachable than exposed offshore sites.
What to see
Granite boulders, hard corals, soft corals, reef fish, parrotfish, butterflyfish, moray eels, rays, hawksbill turtles, nudibranchs, and small crustaceans may be seen.
When To Go Diving
"Best from March–May and October–November, when seas are usually calmer and visibility is stronger. Water is generally around 25–30°C; visibility may vary from modest in the bay to much clearer in settled conditions."
