Playa Dorada is suitable for divers of all levels of experience.This site can be used as a starting ground for novice divers as well as a location for beautiful night dives for advanced divers. Playa Dorada features a lagoon and a reef. A great variety of marine life including many big fish such as groupers, tunas, barracudas, monkfish (angel shark), moray eels, octopus and rays occupy these waters. At certain times of the year it is possible to spot dolphins and whales. The underwater visibility is good, from 10m/33ft to 30m/98ft. The average depth of the site is 2m/7ft with the maximum depth of 12m/40ft. Current is low, around 1 knot.

When To Go Diving

The climate is warm and dry with average daytime temperatures ranging from 21C/70F in January to 29C/84F in August. The water temperature ranges from 18C/64F in February to 23C/73F in September and October.
