All about Outback dive site

Depth max

Outback is best treated as an exposed Mozambique reef with a wilder, open-ocean feel. It suits divers who enjoy current, blue-water space, and the possibility of larger marine life moving along the reef edge.

What to see

Manta rays, whale sharks, reef fish, jacks, snappers, barracuda, turtles, whitetip reef sharks, blacktip sharks, and schooling fish may be seen.

When To Go Diving

May to November is often strong for Tofo and Inhambane megafauna, while southern Mozambique shark sites can be especially interesting from October to May. Water may range from about 17–21°C in cooler months around Tofo to 27–30°C in summer, with visibility from 5–30 metres depending on plankton and conditions.
