Mesas do Espichel, near Cabo Espichel and Sesimbra, suggests plateau-like rock formations on the seabed. It has a strong mainland Atlantic profile, with slabs, ledges, and fish sheltering around the structure.

What to see

Rock tables, conger eels, octopus, cuttlefish, wrasse, bream, nudibranchs, sponges, anemones, and small crustaceans may be seen.

When To Go Diving

Best from June to October, though local divers may visit year-round when the sea is calm. Water is usually around 14–22°C, with visibility often 5–20 metres.
