Fumarois
Fumarois is located between Pico Island and Faial Island within 10-minute boat trip from the shore. What makes Fumarois interesting for divers are active volcanic springs of hot water. The marine life is practically absent due to this peculiarity of nature. The average depth of the site is 35m/114ft with maximum depth reaching 40m/131ft. The visibility is medium, 5-10m. Currents are medium (1-2 knots).
When To Go Diving
The best months to visit Fumarois are July, August and September when the air temperature reaches 27C/81F and the water temperature reaches its peak at 22C /72F.
